DMX512, or digital multiplex
is a control protocol recognized by the USITT (United
States Institute of Theatre Technology). It is used world-wide for various entertainment and architectural lighting devices.
Our unique training program outlines the various techniques and tips an entertainment
industry technician needs to know in order to set-up, troubleshoot and program lighting/effect systems using DMX technology.
This program is perfect for the aspiring lighting tech,
or the seasoned Gaffer, Best-boy or DOP that simply wants more creative control and designability with DMX devices.
The nature of this course is hands-on, which we feel is the only way to learn. Each student
will have access to dimmers, commonly used control consoles, moving lights and new (RGB colour-mixing) DMX LED technology. A custom manual is also provided which outlines terminology, basic DMX set-up practices,
on-set programming tips and troubleshooting.
You have to learn to crawl before you run!!
